This was our second stay at JL 76. We returned because it is located near the Rijks Museum and is in a quiet neighborhood. The service is great and the facility is clean and comfortable. It is a short walk to may interesting restaurants and an adjacent parallel street has upscale shopping. We opted for a room they referred to as a suite since it had a jacuzzi tub and was on a higher floor (3). But we felt that it was a bit overpriced and in the future would take a regular room. Part of our reasoning is that the room was small and based on the architecture of the old building, would assume the floor plans to be similar regardless of the floor that you are on.

My husband and I had a four night stay in an Executive Double in Sept. The room was very comfortable. The buffet breakfast is an additional charge, but is well worth it. The selection of breakfast items was extensive and if you ask they will make you fried eggs as well. The staff were very friendly and attentive. They had tips as to where to go and what to do. We had lovely conversations with desk staff members, Andre and Ace and also with Maggie. The Executive rooms have spa tubs. While there is a shower in the tub, the sides are very high and not easily accessed especially for older or shorter people. We believe the other rooms are step in showers, but if you want or don't want the tub, ask when you make the reservation. The hotel is located on a very quiet treelined residential street with little traffic. It is just a few minute's walk to the Van Gogh, Rijks, Moco or Stedelijk museums. It is also just a very short walk to the MuseumPlein tram stop. We took a bus from the airport and got off just block from the hotel. Also very close to the hotel is an entrance to the large and lovely Vondelpark. The only drawback was that there were not many restaurants in the immediate area. There is a street a block away with many designer shops if you are into that, either for shopping or window shopping. Be sure to watch for bikes when crossing the streets or even sidewalks!! They ride very fast and do not stop for pedestrians!
