Hotel Il Castelfalfi

One of the biggest hotel surprises in Italy! We are visiting Tuscany province for over 10 years but we didn’t knew that there is a hidden gem like this resort !! Due to all our stays in the top Italian hotels like Belmond splendido/ Belmond Caruso/ Belmond Timeo or Grand Hotel Tremazzo at the lake Como we didn’t even taught that this resort will be so idyllic place ! Due to Italian style and trends this place is having one of the best food/ service / views we could imagine . Only rooms were not so “Italian “ style but it was not a problem due to their interior space . All surroundings of this resort are just magical and all restaurants are just “must try” places .

Top reasons why I would stay elsewhere in Tuscany: 1. The views in Tuscany are amazing. You don't need the price of Castelfalfi for Tuscan views. 2. The service was terrible for a "Five Star" resort. The staff is pretty much non-existent...the bar manager is AWESOME though, so he wins back a lot of points - and the breakfast staff was really warm. Everyone in reception and around the hotel was just robotic and cold, plus it feels like they charged us for the toothpicks! Again, we stay in a lot of five star resorts and this one is the bottom of the list. There are many other places I'd recommend outside of Florence before wasting money here. 3. The food at the main bar is ok but the restaurants are far from what real/exceptional Tuscan cuisine is. TRUST ME. Stay at a different resort. It is more like a 3 star hotel in Tuscany, with a staff that has no idea what true customer service means!!

The location is beautiful. The grounds are very well maintained, as well as the hotel and facilities. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. We travelled with an 11 year old child and unfortunately the spare bed was small and quite uncomfortable. The site said that we would be provided with a spare bed but this was literally a sitting bench used as a bed. The check in lady was not very friendly and didn’t welcome us properly which affected our initial impression from the hotel. This was sad because afterwards we met a few very friendly and helpful staff members. Special call out to Francesca the consierge, who was so passionate about her job and gave us some great ideas and advice about how to spend our time at the hotel. Agnese at the restaurant was extremely welcoming and very professional and always made sure we were well taken care of. The food at the restaurants was ok but nothing exceptional.
