Stayed for 1 week towards the end of November 2022. Half Board (breakfast & dinner). Family of three, with a 3 year old. Senior Suit. The Room - Well quipped (small kitchenette which includes a kettle, Nespresso machine, 2 fridges and a microwave) with a bathtub. - Clean and spacious. - Great having the extra room and bathroom, with the sofa bed doubling up as either a single or double bed. - Large balcony with ample furniture. - 3 bottles of water replenished every evening. - A few improvements: black out curtains, face towels and bathroom ventilation. - The floor plan of this room is in correct on the company website; lounge area is not its own room so worth bearing in mind if someone will be sleeping in there. The Hotel / Staff - Generally a 5 star hotel in Europe equates to a 3-4 stars by UK standards, however this hotel is without doubt worthy of its 5 stars. - An excellent hotel that is spotless throughout. - All staff extremely friendly from the porters to the cleaners. - Good entertainment/activities throughout the day, including daily changing evening entertainment from 9.15 – 10pm. - Animation / Kids entertainers are full of energy and really engaging. The Food - Generally, I don’t like buffet style dining because of the overcooked and luke warm food however this hotel does it differently. Everything is heated in small amounts and replenished when required making for a vastly better experience (both for the breakfast and dinner). - The service here was excellent throughout, although when the hotel got busier in the last 2 nights of our stay they did seem overstretched for breakfast and the level of service did drop. - Breakfast: Well stocked and something for everyone. Generally all the standard breakfast items with a wide selection of egg dishes, 5 different types of sausages, 2 types of bacon etc. A nice touch was the fresh juice stand where someone will make your mix of fruit / veg juice. The only feedback would be to stop glazing all the pastries. - Dinner: Surprisingly we didn’t get tired of eating here for 7 nights as the range of food was very good. It seemed like there was a theme every evening although there was no real communication of this, ranging from Chinese/Thai, India, German, Seafood etc. There were a couple of nights we didn’t enjoy the theme so we fell back on the ‘standard items’ (there every night) of Pizza (prepared fresh and toppings change daily) and Pasta (again prepared to your liking with different styles of pasta every evening). Dessert was of a high standard with the ‘standard items’ consisting of fresh fruit and ice creams (variety of flavours, around 8). The only feedback would be to provide cones for the ice-cream. - A nice touch was the kids dinner selection which, although remained largely the same, consisted of burgers, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, chips etc. - We ate lunch at the hotel a couple of times; little to no variation between what the restaurants serve aside from the outdoor bar (located on -1). Food variety was also a little lacking against what was being served at the buffet for breakfast/dinner. - A special thankyou to Beatriz who was excellent throughout. The Pools - 2 main pools and 1 kids pool (located in the water park). - Well taken care of; for example, witnessed samples of the water being taken during the day and robotic cleaners at night. Sunbeds and surrounding floor was cleaned daily in the morning. - Nicely heated; enough to take the edge off. - No blaring music played during the day so you can actually relax. - Mosaic tiling around the main pool is coming away in places so could do with repairing. - We witnessed very little in terms of people reserving sunbeds which was nice. - The adults only pool/bar on the 5th floor and was very nice. Overall - This hotel is one of the more expensive hotels in Tenerife however you get what you pay for in this instance. - We had an excellent stay and would have no hesitation in returning back to this hotel. - I would rank this hotel 4.7/5. Useful Information: - Garden view balcony’s get the sun. Pool view balcony’s get no sun (aside from one section). - Check out is 12pm. Late checkout, subject to availability, can be extended for free until 2pm. Leaving any time after 2pm costs €75. - Taxi from the airport (taxi stand outside) costs ~€28 and the same returning (ask the porter to arrange, arrived within 2 mins). - Beach is 5/10 mins walk, uphill on the way back. - Supermarket located in the shopping mall opposite, although most things are generally overpriced (cost of water was ok though). - ATM within the hotel and also at the airport.
We really like this hotel and have just been on our 2nd visit, hoping to return next year for our 3rd. It is very much a family hotel (with some older and younger couples too) and this is the attraction for us as there are no noisy or rowdy groups (possibly because the hotel doesn’t offer an all-inclusive package). The hotel has plenty of quiet spaces, but also has amazing facilities to keep the kids busy. The splash pool with slides on the 5th floor is just fabulous, along with use of the table tennis, basketball and tennis (all included in the price). Personally, we found the food to be of a high quality and it was always beautifully presented in the buffet restaurant. There was just enough variety to keep us interested for our 8 day stay. The staff in the buffet restaurant are all professional and generally polite, although we found a couple stood out to be exceptionally warm and friendly - Yamira (thank you for recommending the Dorada beer, teaching me how to say “rodaja de Lima” and for always greeting us with a friendly smile) and Beatriz (thank you for recommending our Riojas and also for making us feel very welcome). Airan is another stand out staff member - he tends to waiter at the splash pool and Go Fun bar and is always very courteous and also has a good sense of humour. Our son spent quite a few evenings in the maxi club/teen club. The young ladies who work there are lovely and are so enthusiastic with the kids, taking the time to learn the kids names. Stand out staff members are Nomi and Merida (both of whom speak fantastic English too). This hotel is super clean and everyday the staff are scrubbing and wiping everything down, both inside and out - it has to be the cleanest hotel I’ve stayed in and we often stay in 5* properties. You can see they take pride in having everything look clean and tidy all of the time - another reason we like it here so much. Positives:- Good location for families. Close to shops/beach. Good quality & beautifully presented food. Professional staff. Lovely rooms - quite spacious (senior suite). Good facilities. Negatives:- WiFi is not the best outside of the rooms. The heat lamps on the hot food buffet don’t really keep the food warm enough. We requested a complimentary birthday card and cake from the hotel for our son’s 11th birthday to be in the room between 9-9:30, however this didn’t happen and we had to remind them, which was slightly disappointing. I would give the hotel 4.5 stars and would definitely return here every year! 100%.
The GF Victoria definitely lived up to expectations. From the clean rooms to the lovely staff we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. We came with our 9 month old and the staff were amazing with her. Angel, Chi Hung, Raphael, Irina and Paco were all fantastic staff and a credit to your hotel. We will definitely be coming back!
