Booked for the three course & bottle of wine deal, £169. The reception check was trouble free, the staff as always were very helpful, the room was lovely as always, smashing shower and very comfortable. Sadly the meal was not as expected, on arrival I was given the menu relevant to our deal, which was fine, plenty of choice. We had booked the restaurant for 8pm, on arrival we were handed the A la carte menu and old that our deal related to this menu and we had to chose form that one, I did query this and said we were booked in for the three course meal, they insist it was the a la carte menu. Sadly the bread rolls were very bitter tasted, the cod was raw to a point that i could not cut the fish, the sauce was unpleasant, one of the scallops was completely raw and inedible, the sole was bland and again seemed uncooked in some areas. sadly i didn't eat any of the dinner to be honest, maybe its my palate, but it didn't taste nice. The service was a bit slow with respect to pouring the wine, we had to repeatedly ask for refills from the decanted bottle, we were not drinking quickly either. Given the food issues we decided not to stay for breakfast. Whilst checking out the lady said I had an extra £90 to pay, jeezy peeps I nearly had a seizure, the lady said that my deal was of a specific value and that I should pay the difference as I had the extras/a l carte menu. The money was quickly waived and sorted out, but that didn't deflect from the mix up over menus the previous evening.

Great stay with large spacious room. Reception & concierge gentleman very friendly and showed us to the room. Bar staff welcoming and friendly with good knowledge of the drinks. Special mention to the female manager whom was working in the restaurant she took the time to ask how our evening had been and got us a night cap. Also the female night manager and her colleague whom organised us a continental breakfast and coffees due an early departure. Lovely hotel with great staff - will recommend and return.

Visited on 14/1/23 for afternoon tea a and drinks. Was looked after all day, especially by Liz, Tom and James. They made us feel very welcome which resulted in us staying there all day. Would recommend for a very relaxed and luxurious experience. Will be back soon.
