Imagine a place where the Mediterranean meet the precious Amalfi Coast and the blue is endless in the sky. A place where a pleasant breeze brings the scent of lemons to the room where the window is looking the sea … and the sound of the waves is a melody.

A nice hotel, the views from the rooms and public areas are amazing and the staff are friendly and helpful - special mention for Samantha in the restaurant and Catalina on reception. The hotel is rated 4*, however the rooms are only around 3* (the bathroom needed a major upgrade) but the location and pool area are excellent which somewhat compensates for that. The pool area on 8th floor is beautiful, the pool 'rules' are explained in far too much detail to guests when you first arrive there. A softer approach would work a little better so guests know they are actually allowed to enjoy themselves when relaxing by the pool! The hotel hosts weddings (there were two during the week we were there), and these do impact upon hotel guests. The restaurant and bar on the terrace closes to guests, the pool may close early, the evening party can be noisy, and during the day the staff setting up speakers, lighting, etc, around the pool are quite intrusive if you are trying to snooze or read a book on a sun bed. The hotel doesn't mention this loss of facilities on its website, or compensate guests for it . I overheard a lady complaining about it to the front desk manager who seemed to think it was OK because the hotel had put a notice up advising guests of the dates the facilities would be unavailable. It's a short walk into Maoiri where there are plenty of restaurants and bars, the town has a nice feel to it. There's plenty to do, there's a beach club that you pay for, and it's easy to get to other local towns by boat or bus; the walk to the harbour takes 20-25 minutes. The restaurant across the road from the hotel (Torre Normanna) hosted 5 evening events during our week. The noise from the band/disco is very loud and is likely to keep you awake. They generally finished by midnight, but other reviews have said they can go on until the early hours. This is not the hotel's fault but it's something to bear in mind. Having said that, we did eat there one night and the food was amazing. We would certainly return to the hotel as the positives definitely outweigh the negatives - and you will never get tired of the views.

This was our first time in the Amalfi and we were glad we stayed at this hotel in Maiori. Our room was spacious, clean, and had the basic amenities. We enjoyed a spacious patio that had a beautiful view of Maiori and the sea. It was a little cool for the pool but we were content lounging on the chairs with the spectacular view. The front desk staff were always friendly and were always helpful in making recommendations for sightseeing or restaurant recommendations. The views, from our room, pool area, and dining were absolutely breathtaking. It is the views and staff and service that makes this hotel so special. The hotel is located on the edge of a cliff just outside the main area of Maiori BUT it is a short walk to the nearby restaurants and shops. If you do not want to walk, there is a shuttle that will take you to the center of the town or to the port to catch a ferry to the other Amalfi Coast towns. There is a small fee, for the shuttle, which will be added to your room, but as we learned, taxis are rare and very expensive. We ate at the hotel 4 of the 6 nights we stayed at the hotel. If you want a very special experience, we would recommend indulging in their restaurant Oltremare. It is expensive but it is worth every penny. It is best to make reservations as there are only 6 to 7 tables per night. There are 3 different dinner course options to choose from; 4 course, 6 course, or 8 courses. Be prepared to spend about 3 hours enjoying one of the best culinary experiences of your life. The entire wait staff is at your disposal and they are what makes your dining experience ultra special. Each dish is beautifully presented creatively. And the freshest ingredients are used to prepare each delectable course. If you are expecting a traditional course selection with a typical appetizer, salad, main course and etc, then this is not going to be for you. IF you are open to a new flavor pallette AND an intimate culinary experience, then we would highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. There were fireworks almost every night as there was a wedding or an event almost every night. We can see why so many chose to celebrate their wedding here or at The Norman Tower which is just across the street. We tried unsuccessfully to get dinner reservations but there seemed to be an event there every night. We read that the food was also great. We agree with the other reviews that this hotel is a hidden gem. We would love to come back to this hotel in the future! Bob & Cyrena S

One of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in. Our room had a balcony overlooking the ocean and the views are amazing. The restaraunt and food are first class along with the service from the staff. The manager responded very professionally and generously with a minor issue we had. Location is ideal to get to most anything in town on foot. Overall this hotel deserves a 5 star recommendation.
