Hotel Berg is a four-star boutique hotel on two floors located above a small marina in Keflavík, where most travellers begin and end their journey in Iceland due to its short distance to the international airport.
Hotel Berg is only a 5-minute drive to the airport, yet has quiet surroundings, as it is well away from the noises of the airport.

The hotel is only close to the airport and the Blue Lagoon. So if you stay there, make sure you have a car as taxis are incredibly expensive. Also be warned about their strict no return policy - even if it their fault. This was one of the most disappointing stays I have ever had. I splurged for my birthday booked the Loft Suite for 5 nights. Due to unforeseen events, I could not stay the first night. I spoke with the staff who assured me that my room would be waiting for me. When I went to call the next day to let them know I was going to be checking in late, the phones, website and e-mail were all down. I could not get a hold of them for 3 days so I had to make other arrangements to ensure I had a place to stay. Finally on my last day in Iceland, the phones were back up and I was able to stay there my last night. The Loft Suite was FREEZING. I'm pretty sure the thermostat was for show only. It did not read anything and you could not turn the dial. I had to wear multiple layers - it was that cold!! Essentially all the heat escapes through the skylight and there did not appear to be much insulation in the loft/ bedroom part of the room. Additionally there was no luggage stand so I had to unpack on the floor. There was also no toilet paper holder- the roll was placed on the sink. For the top of the line room in this hotel - I was shocked!! To make matters worse, I was told I could stay in the room until 2 (check out is at 11:00) for no extra charge due to all the issues with their systems being down. I had the do not disturb sign on my door while I went for a walk. I came back to find my suitcases had been removed from the room without my permission before 1:00!!! The final disappointment came in a promise to mail some postcards. It has now been 6 weeks and there is no sign of the postcards. I regret asking the front staff as I'm sure I could have mailed them from the airport. The only reason I am giving them 2 stars because it was very clean and the breakfast staff was incredibly nice and accommodating.
The hotel has comfortable beds and shower, heated bathroom floor. The rooms are very spacious with modern decor and the amenities are great. The staff is kind and friendly. It is 5 minutes away from the airport and provides complementary shuttle service to the airport. Breakfast included. The only downside is that there are no coffee makers in the rooms.
Stayed one night after arriving into Keflavik Airport which is 15 minutes away. Really friendly and welcoming team on reception and the room we had was beautiful with views of the harbour. There are plenty of dining options minutes away and a superb bakery at the opposite end of the high street. the restaurant looked lovely but we did not eat here during our stay.
