Beautiful and amazing place. Everything is more than perfect. In the middle of a archeological site. The hotel staff are very attentive and professional. The restaurant is very good. The rooms are spacious and fresh. 15 minutes from Maho, the airport and the beaches. I will come back for sure.
Positives first: Very peaceful location. Our week here was relaxing especially as property was nearly empty at end of season. We were given a room upgrade without asking which was nice- room was most spacious and bed was very comfortable. Lovely views over beautiful grounds. Staff were always friendly and eager to help. Breakfasts served outside were great- good choice and healthy options available. We were very keen to relax on this holiday and this hotel is great for that- all you will hear are birds chattering, cows mooing and the odd dog barking! Great central location for visiting different parts of this very beautiful island. Negatives: I’m afraid there were a few. There was no shelf in the shower to place your soap, shampoo etc so were forced to scrabble around on the floor for everything. Reminded me of a student hostel in that respect. When I queried this, was told owner is aware of complaints but refuses to do anything about it! Very odd - can’t imagine he puts up with this in his own house. Also no tissues in bathroom. When I asked for some, I was handed a plate with restaurant napkins! Asked again and was given a box of tissues - the kind you find in every 5 star hotel in the world. The wardrobe is spacious but shelves underneath prevent you from hanging dresses. Bath was ultra modern but spectacularly uncomfortable to lie in. No full length mirror in our room. I had great difficulty opening our room door- the lock was so stiff, I couldn’t manage to work it. Again, have never experienced this in a 5star hotel. We ate in the first night. Had the 65 euro menu which was nothing special and far more expensive than the excellent food we ate everywhere else on the island. The dining room inside is poorly decorated and soulless bordering on the depressing. You have to inform them at breakfast if you want to eat dinner there at night. Eating on the terrace at breakfast is much better though slightly marred by seeing cleaning staff coming and going with buckets and hoovers and dirty bed linen to their work base nearby. Will we return? I’m afraid not.
We were excited to stay at this new agrotourismo as it looks beautiful in the pics. However it was very disappointing and we cannot recommend. we arrived for our anniversarY and rates were over 500 euros/ nt . We received no welcome drinks or warmth from mgr) and in fact their “bar” was unmanned, with only 2 tables and drinks the most expensive of anywhere we went on menorca.the property had no life, the pool was boring the managers weee cold and not service orientated. We had an issue with our room, suite, yes it was beautiful however the first night the walls were crumbling and the bed ended up full of rocks, not littLe ones! We moved to one of the 2 single beds and got little sleep. We reported the issue the next morning to tony on reception who was very helpful and apologetic. In fact the only member of staff there that was humble and helpful! He seemed very worried and tried to help us remedy the situation. We decided to leave for the day and come back to a lower room category which we accepted because the first room was not an option. The manager offered us a 70 euro refund for the room! And then we would also be in the lower category room. We weren’t happy and she said she could give us a bottle of cava ? That never came . The whole incident was embarrassing and awkward no ended in an argument. We had dinner booked that evening and although didn’t want to go anymore because of the confrontation we went. It was Awful! Do not book dinner! At 90 euros pp it was terrible ! Not a vegetable in sight! Service was gracious and when I said about the veg he just said “ tell management” . This seemed to be a theme, the staff weren’t able to feedback to the management who were just running the place for money. Breakfast thankfully was great especially the service however there are many other agroturisms nearby that way surpass this place. On checkout we mentioned our disappointment and a manager came long ( young girl) no apologies just stony faced. Stay elsewhere . Torralbenc was lovely ( esp their cliff sunset event) , menorca experimaemtal was great , lovely atmosphere and delicious lunch! Also we called in at Rufus Rafael the owners couldn’t have been more welcoming! And llucasaldent also lovely welcoming owners! We enjoyed our stay there . Antic menorca will take your money happily but won’t survive with their service and management
