We chose the hotel for its proximity to St.Mark's square. The staff are friendly. Room is old fashioned but clean. Breakfast is served in the room. It is basic but adequate if you are staying 2 - 3 days (it can get very repetitive after that).
Lovely boutique hotel very close to San Marco Basilica and Doges Palace. Rafaele brought our breakfast in our room and is an absolute delight! Paolo at Reception was very helpful, asking Administration on our behalf for cash charged to our room after my wallet was pickpocketed at the Rialto vaporetto stop. He recommended the Ristorante Antica Sacrestia, which we loved. The rooms are and cozy. We had a junior suite with a large armoire closet, desk and chair, bureau, corner round table and pair of arm chairs perfect for breakfast. The junior suite for three was a bigger room, with a sofa instead of bureau, but noisier (354). The style is Venetian with brocade drapes, headboard and cornice. The bathroom has a shower, no tub. The king bed was two twins together, similar to European hotels. Housekeeping does an excellent job: every surface was clean. And we are picky. Depending on the room, it can get noisy even on the third floor. Room 354 seems noisier than Room 355 from street noise and ringing bells from the Basilica San Marco. Another guest who stayed in 251 said it was very quiet. If you book directly with the hotel, ask for a quiet room with a view of the Bridge of Sighs. The hotel also arranged for water taxi airport transfers and a free ride to Murano island, glass blowing demonstration and tour of an artisan showroom at factory discounted prices. The gentlemen who explained the art of glass blowing was very good, clear explanations in English and no pressure. Of course, they would love for you to buy. The highlight of Murano is the Museum of Glass - excellent videos and artisan pieces. Excellent value, not Four Seasons or a full-service hotel like a Marriott, but a delightful hotel in a great location.
Staff are so welcoming and Friendly. Room was amazing! Breakfast delivered to your room each morning. 3 min walk to San Marco Square so perfect location. Got a water taxi straight to the door but you could walk from square! Would highly recommend a visit.
