The hotel is situated in the buda district, very close to the river. I am not a great fun of Hilton chain, but this one was quite nice, a bit better than usual Hilton. The reception was very attentive and in general service was of decent standard. Something to be aware of, that if you arrive afte 11 pm, you might not be able to get any food via room service. Although it claims to be 5 star, they did not have a proper 24 hours room service. We arrived very late and they did not have much to eat, when we called room service. They told us that they are out of food, and eventually managed to get us only few sandwiches and we were a groups of 6 ... We were told they do not have more ... (: but all in all, nice hotel
I recently spent 2 weeks in Central and Eastern Europe. The Budapest Hilton did not disappoint with their service, cleanliness and employees. From the moment I checked in to the moment I left, the entire staff was kind and willing to answer any questions, give suggestions and provide directions when asked. The breakfast provided by the hotel had a large selection to cater to all tastes and eating styles. The two gentlemen at the concierge desk were extremely helpful every time I stopped by with a question. There was a small issue at check in due to a Hilton Honors issue. Anna, at the reception desk, worked through the issue with grace and kindness. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Budapest.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Hilton in the castle district of Budapest. The hotel is directly adjacent to the church where Hungarian royalty was crowned as well as fisherman's Bastion. The building itself was built on the ruins of a cloister and you can see some of the old ruins in the basement. Check in took awhile but we were with a tour group. Beautiful building, great bar, nice rooms with a large tub (always a plus after long day on your feet!). The hotel is on the top of the hill so you can walk to the Pest side if you are a good walker, we never tried walking up all the step as there is a multi person golf cart like shuttle that will drive you up the hill instead. Perfect location!
