Excellent golf course conditions for February. The fairways were perfect and manicured ideally. The greens were exceptional for February, very quick and true. How the green staff managed to keep the course in this condition in these conditions is amazing. Will definitely be returning soon. A massive thank you to the green staff for making our day wonderful.

Staff overwhelmed , friendly but not enough staff for size of hotel . Nobody answers phone at reception as too busy . System is hugely disorganised and causes problems with everything. We had booked deluxe room but our room 660 in North wing was anything but deluxe . It was freezing cold and unlike other deluxe rooms in hotel had no bath and and was impossible to heat . Our twin bed did not materialise we just had a large double and the room was dark and cramped. . Satellite had gone down on day we arrived so no TV etc luckily we don’t need to watch on holiday but it’s not what you expect in this day and age .pool and changing area clean and Chloe in the spa treatment area is very good if you are looking for a lovely relaxing treatment or massage. The market kitchen restaurant is not great , good staff but food average and feels like you are at a butlins . I really do not want to have self service on holiday . . We enjoyed the dinner when we managed to get a table at the travelling duke . The sirloin steak was perfect . This hotel in lovely setting needs a really good team to go in and organise it so it fulfils its potential because at the moment it is organised chaos. I could not believe the state of the walled garden and that area of hotel grounds . It could be really beautiful but instead is just allowed to rot and looks like a maintenance area , the fountain is empty and deteriorating and the greenhouses which could be supplying hotel with fresh veg have been abandoned . This could be a jewel in the crown but instead is neglected and sad. Has nobody with an architectural or artistic eye looked at this hotel and grounds and made an effective plan of action to make it 5*+- I doubt it !! I think this hotel hands been planned to make money with little insight into perfect customer care and the most creative way to enhance the grounds and make it both environmentally pleasing and environmentally self serving ( by using the walled garden) . This stay has put me off Warner hotels although other guests have told me that it is different and better at others. I feel more like I have had a weekend at Butlins than a flagship hotel .

What a cracker. More like a cruise ship at anchor with a stately home in the middle. Facilities are very nice the interior designers have excelled themselves with smart interiors. Not the bling of Studley (which we also love) but a more relaxed sharp modern feel. More Pierre Cardin less Zanda Rhodes. Golf course looks immaculate, just had an excellent lesson with Will (Viking golf). Will come again, next time for a golfing break with fellow golf mates.
