From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special - we had a wonderful garden room on the top floor as requested 11 months previously! The staff are highly professional and left no stone unturned to ensure we were aware of all the many facilities available at the resort and we made the most of them including the water sports equipment! Loved the afternoon pancakes and ice-cream - sometimes it's the little things that mean a lot!! Everything was spotlessly clean. We really hope to return as our experience of this hotel was truly superb. Thank you to the whole team here
We had the privilege to stay in the Beach Villa at Heritage Awali - WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!! The hotel, staff, etc were exceptional. Special mention of Alex (the Villa butler); he made a great holiday even better - always attentive, a wealth of local knowledge, arranged special evenings and looked after our every need!!! THANK YOU Alex!!!!
We were a big group of 19 travelling to Heritage Awali. On arrival we were warmly greeted and then taken to have our covid 19 LFTs done on the adults. Results were read after a minute and we were free to proceed to our rooms. We had booked a sea view room and were given an amazing room that was right infront of the kids pool and sea view as well. This was a god send as we didn't need to reserve a sun bed early in the morning. The views of the sun set from the terrace were breath taking. The rooms were well appointed with a big double sofa bed for the two kids. The pros of the hotel were, great service from all the staff, great cocktails, great hot chocolate, a kids clubs with enjoyable activities including cycling, water sports like kayak and glass bottom boat rides if the tide permitted and plenty of lovely walking routes to the chateaux. There was also a table tennis table that alot of guests enjoyed. Cons. This is a big one. Very limited vegetarian food at lunch and dinner. The salad bowls were mainly meat orientated and also the variety of the dishes available was limited at lunch and dinner. We were a group of 19 and most of the group were vegetarian so this was a big issue. We were then introduced to chef Francis. He would then ask us what we would like for lunch and dinner and did his level best to deliver. His dishes were great but not needed if the hotel offered more vegetarian food naturally. The hotel wants to be seen as eco friendly but when it comes to food this is not apparent. We were then told most of their guests want meat in their meals, but most meat eaters also eat vegetarian food and I saw numerous guests struggling like we were. The hotel needs to move with the times and up its game and offerings in the food department. More people are eating more vegetarian and vegan food to lead a healthier life. We didn't book the speciality restaurants but the hotel did serve some of the dishes to our table at dinner. I would only return to this hotel once it re thinks its food strategy.
