We had high hopes for this holiday, which turned out to be mixed feelings about it. The hotel was beautiful, the staff were excellent but some things weren't so good. Firstly, although they advertise several pools, there were actually 2 pools for general use and a toddler pool. The other pools are all attached to bungalows and swim up rooms. 2 pools for a few hundred people. The a la carte restaurants were excellent however its only possible to book once a week each. The real disappointment was the buffet. The food was OK but definitely not as good as we expected. Also, we missed having real cretan cuisine, which is, in my opinion, one of the best reasons for going to Crete. Having been to Crete many times, I think I'll give fully inclusive a miss and go B&B and spend the extra it cost us this time on eating at local restaurants.
This hotel is something special! From the minute that we arrived, the staff could not do more for me and my partner! When we arrived, we were invited to sit down and the very helpful concierge provided us with a cold drink and a list of all the dinner reservations that we had made the week prior. After that we were escorted to our room and our luggage was taken for us! If you are coming here as part of the JET2 holidays deal, I would really recommend that you book a private transfer from the airport. The coach journey took over 2 hours and we were very tired and hungry by the time we arrived! it is the one thing that I would change about this trip. The meals were fantastic, luckily we managed to eat at all of the A la Carte's and at Agreco Farm. The restaurants do book up quickly, so my biggest tip is to book them well in advance otherwise you will be disappointed. The quality of the food was amazing, especially at The White and at the Italian. The booked breakfast at the Greek restaurant was MASSIVE and just kept coming. It was a lovely experience overlooking the sea. My boyfriend really enjoyed the Asian restaurant. Agreco Farm was probably the highlight! It is hard to believe that it comes included in the price of your stay! They are not shy on portions and the food is fantastic with great scenery. They show you all of their products and a tour around the farm.Would recommend for couples as it was very romantic. The spa was lovely! My boyfriend and I had a great hammam experience and a wonderful massage. I would definitely recommend! We were lucky with the weather and managed to enjoy 6 days of amazing weather and we were able to go into the sea and swim in the pool! The pool was kept in so clean! We usually did that and then enjoyed a waffle, crepe, slush puppy or ice-cream after! The workers in there were lovely and always smiling. One of the other great things about this hotel is the chocolaterie / patisserie where you can get incredible chocolates, sweets, macarons etc everyday! We were regular visitors! Drinks were strong and good! Overall, I have no complaints about this hotel and would definitely return in the future.
Our flights were a disaster(TUI) and we arrived early in the morning after a very lengthy journey but within a few hours we were thoroughly enjoying a great holiday. The food was very good in the buffet restaurant but the specialty restaurants especially the fine dining experience was memorable. The staff were very good, although some of the staff were better at their cocktails than others but all were incredibly friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
