Lovely week at this hotel it is perfect. Stayed at various hotels in the same area and this comes out on top. Staff are super friendly and helpful Whole hotel spotless Breakfast well organised and good quality Bedrooms modern and huge beds very comfortable Its quiet no noise Pools good lots of space and sunbeds - never had to rush down to get a space Nice spa
We really appreciate our stay in a wonderful suite no12 with a sunny terrace and a very Nice layout inside room. The San Sebastian place is very Nice with the hotest and nicest pool in the aera. Even the staff is very efficient and friendly. Very good products for the breakfast and good cleanless of the room. However, very very disapointed about Dinner. For our last evening tomorrow,we were interest to go to thé buffet restaurant. The price is good for 35 euros, but not allowed to come in with bermuda for men. Really sad, We are not talking about 3 stars Michelin (even food is very very good). So, We will go outside . We are not any more in the 80’s. I can understand no tongues and swimwear, but too exagerate. Bad thing for end of stay…
We visited the Gran Tacande for a third time for 6 nights from 3rd November. Our reservation number was 3291737. Upon arrival we were advised that our room was 748. We asked why that was as we had booked a front ocean view having stayed in room 416 the previous year. When booking we were told that there was only one area that qualified as a front ocean view, the one we stayed in 2021. We had made a request at the time of booking for a room on the floor above and we understood that this was added to the notes on our booking. We explained all this at checkin and were advised that if we stayed in 748 for the first night we could be moved to 516 the following day. Whist this was very inconvenient and meant that we could not unpack we accepted it. When we arrived in 748 it was clearly not a forward facing room. The view was across to Las Americas and to see the ocean you had to look right. The balcony was a poor shape and you couldn’t even sit with your feet on the ground. The room itself was quite tired and did not align to the website description. There was no sofa and looked nothing like the photographs on the website. Even the floor tiles were moving with their adhesive having perished. The following day I received a call from Martin at reception advising me that room 516 was no longer available. We left our sunloungers to look at two options for (530 & 540). We opted for 530 as it more closely reflected our booking albeit interrupted by a chimney and satellite dish. Reluctantly, we accepted as we wanted to finally unpack and enjoy our holiday. We were also advised that there were 3 areas of the hotel that qualified as a front facing ocean view and that 748 met the criteria. This contradicted what we had been advised when we booked a year earlier and is not as described in the website. The room itself was too warm that night and the aircon didn’t have any effect. I went to reception the following morning to see what could be done. To my surprise it was adjusted at the reception terminal. No maintenance was needed. Quite a disruptive sleep could have been avoided. We did enjoy many aspects of the hotel as we have done previously and have already booked flights to come back to Tenerife on 1st November 2023 for a further 6 nights. We would ideally want to return to the Gran Tacande but with our expectations for this trip not having been met I am not sure whether we will book for next year. Three weeks later our complaint has not been addressed. For a company that values customer experience and ensuring expectations are delivered you have to ask whether this is being taken seriously.
