Gran Meliá Palacio De Isora

Stayed for a week using our rci points, and it was fabulous. So relaxing. Staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed it so much that we are planning to go back in October. Its the best hotel we have ever stayed in within Tenerife

The hotel and grounds are beautiful. We opted for just bed and breakfast bird as we don’t drink and wanted to spend a few days out for dinner. We started each day with a large breakfast, a wide choice of hot and cold options. My partner particularly loved all the waffles, pancakes and doughnuts available. We used the gym almost every morning after breakfast. As we used it around 11/12 it was often just us or a couple of other people in there, however if you’re an early riser I can imagine it being busy in there. We spent our sunbathing time down in the tranquility end of the grassed section as we enjoyed the spread out sun beds and quieter atmosphere. Views across to La Gomera and listening to the waves made for a peaceful beautiful few days. We braved the initial icy chill of the large salt water infinity pool for our daily swim. As soon as you get your shoulders under it is actually pleasantly refreshing. We only dined in Pangea and the Italian for dinner both very pleasant. The evening entertainment was very good. We partially enjoyed the ‘rock’ show. Our room was in a quieter section on the ground floor where we had a view of the fish pond. We heard no noise at night from the entertainment, however I wouldn’t want to be closer to the center of the hotel as I imagine this would be a problem. The room itself was spacious. Massive bed. Lots of storage. Generous bath tub and separate shower. ( the phone made moving in the toilet difficult however!) We tried the spa water ritual (€40 per person) which was pleasant but slightly disappointing. Whilst the main pool was warm enough I feel that and the jacuzzi should be turned up a few degrees. We both enjoyed the cold plunge pool, an invigorating experience. Unfortunately the sauna was not working whilst we were there. There was a note on the door to say if you needed more heat add some ice from the fountain, however the room was tepid at best and after adding some ice chips they were still there unmelted 10mins later. We mentioned our disappointment about the sauna on leaving the spa and she said they were trying to get the temperature right in there - but there is a difference between getting it right and the sauna just being turned off. On check out we explained we were not happy to pay full price for this and they did kindly discount the bill for us. There are a few tweaks here and there that can push this hotel to be a great 5* (one being putting complimentary water in the room everyday) but overall we really enjoyed our stay.

My fiancée treated me to a weeks stay at this hotel, and I've got to say, it's the best hotel I've ever stoped at, and that's the honest truth, the service was exceptional, every time we walked past a member of staff, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The food was amazing, the entertainment and facilities was excellent, the greenery and gardens were beautiful, and it had an amazing lake filled with all different fish which our daughter loved to watch. Overall a wonderful family holiday!
