July 2022

Not too bad but won’t be rushing back :/

Me and my partner arrived here on the 5th July, after a seasick and tiring ferry journey we wanted to dump our stuff and go and find somewhere to eat. We were greeted with the receptionist, at first she had a smile and then after a minute she was rolling her eyes, giving unnecessary attitude whilst me and my partner were making small jokes and laughing with her such as : She dropped the paperwork for us or she couldn’t find something and she was huffing around. she managed to break a small smile but she just didn’t seem bothered at all or as if it was task to be dealing with us which was quite unwelcoming. It wasn’t late either as it had just gone 6 or 7 so it wasn’t due to a long shift as after the course of the 3 nights we were there we recognised the pattern of the same 2 girls who swapped over from the morning to the evening. When she showed us to our room she was quick to get back to the reception desk. My partner had trouble with the safe so he went to grab her so she could help. I was lead across the bed trying to have a comfy 5 minutes and when she walked in she gave me a weird look and then go on with the safe which made me quickly sit upright as if I couldn’t just sprawl out in my own space. The room was spacious but bland. Our bathroom light didn’t work but we didn’t have time to let them know and quite frankly, if we asked we probably would of received an eye roll. Furthermore, all hotels should check the rooms to see if all is functioning well and the room is clean and presentable. The AC had a strong smell of sweat, it was a horrid smell that lasted for 10 minutes then went away but after a hot day and coming back to a hot room we weren’t looking forward to the AC being on. The bed was stiff and uncomfortable. Bathroom was quite nice and spacious though The hotel pool area was really nice and the loungers were comfortable. The views were nice too. We had breakfast included, for 3 mornings it was the same thing. The same food laid out. The same refreshments laid out. After a while it just got boring. There wasn’t a menu you just got up and put stuff on your plate. The food was tasty though, I managed to switch things up a bit here and there. Bar staff were really friendly and informative and were nicer to speak to than the receptionists. The evening receptionist really made me bite my tongue a couple times. 1) I asked how we get to super paradise beach and she said “why don’t you go check the bus timetable over there” which she pointed to the pinboard across from us. We looked and there was no info. We asked for help and she rolled her eyes and went to the timetable herself and then said “why don’t you just get the water taxi?” She said it as if it was obvious but I’ve never used one, my partner had never been to Greece before so he wouldn’t know and I had never even heard of one. The way she spoke was disgusting. “Yes it takes you to all the beaches you just get on and it takes you there, water taxi is the easiest thing” we felt belittled by the way she spoke and I will never forget it. 2) we checked out on the 8th in the morning and we asked if we could get a taxi to the port. Little did we know there were only a dozen taxis on the island which she said she would call them. She tried calling twice then slammed the handset down looked at me and said “the line is busy” shrugged and then stared at me as if I was going to suggest something else or to just leave her alone. I said “I really need to catch the ferry to the next island so please can you keep trying” she did and then she suggested a private car “it is more expensive but it’s better than nothing” I agreed and she finally got through to someone. I must mention that the check out was short and not warming. There was no “thank you for staying with us I hope you had a good stay” it was short and it wasn’t nice. So with that, another couple hand in their keys and she switches to “hello!! Oh thank you for your stay I’m so happy you stayed, your company has been great!” And I was so upset with it that by the time the private car arrived she said “safe travels” and I have a stiff “thanks” with no smile and walked out of there. The hotel is close to a bus stop €3.60 to town but that doesn’t get you a return. The buses are packed on the evening. We walked a couple times to save money but it’s a dangerous road to get there. Will not be rushing back here, I would only stay if there were no other hotels available.

Terrible

Absolutely horrendous. The mattress is so uncomfortable, feels like sleeping on just springs with no padding. Mentioned it to reception to see if there was anything they could do and had nothing but attitude and no help.

Half star hotel

The rooms are old and with enough humidity. The cleanliness is mediocre if you think that we found dirty sheets. We were not given a single spoon that we asked for with excuses of covit. In the evening we asked for water from the reception and guess it did not have water four star hotel Fortunately the gentleman there gave us his own ashamed and having nothing to say.At the evening an old gentleman spoke aggressively and we did not understand what he was saying and in the morning a cook shouted at a customer and then at the girls reception. Not a four star me and my wife just wasted our money.Nice pool and was close to city.
