This vacation was hands down made by having Tami as our host. From the point we arrived to being greeted by her warm smile through check in process, walked personally by her to our villa and then an over view of our options available to us throughout our stay. Her willingness to assist with questions and needs during our stay was the best customer service I've experienced in all my years of travel. This resort is lucky to have her and should consider her as the lead host to train others! Location, weather, food and other staff made our stay a wonderful one!
My husband and I stayed at fushifaru for 7 days and 7 nights for our honeymoon and it was one of the most wonderful and memorable experiences of our lives! The island was beautiful, the food was spectacular, and staff was impeccable! Tami was the a phenomenal host - she was extremely kind, friendly, and attentive. She recommend the best events and activities for us and was honest about what she thought was worth our money and what we would enjoy. For food, we prepaid for breakfast and dinner at the buffet and throughly enjoyed every meal. There was a lot of variety, and everything from the meats to the fruits tasted extremely fresh. We especially enjoyed the deserts and the food on Asian night. Haroon, our waiter was exceptional! He catered to our every need and kept us entertained and laughing at every meal. Dhira, one of the chefs, put together the most beautiful fruit platters for us every morning during breakfast which we loved! One of the days we took a sushi class with Ahmed which was really special! He is a sushi master and sushi we made with him was some of the best we’ve ever had. We attended a few free events and paid excursions during our stay. Our favorites of the free events were the coconut show and the Maldivian tea party. The resort held a concert by an incredible Maldivian jazz musician during one of the nights which we thoroughly enjoyed. We were also lucky enough to be present when the annual employee appreciation party took place. The staff put on an amazing fashion show and the dance party afterward was a blast! In terms of the paid excursions, we enjoyed the sunset fishing trip and the snorkeling trip in search of sea turtles. We were lucky enough to see a couple of dolphins during the fishing trip. On days we were lounging, we loved getting to know Xing at the Hang Out! He kept us entertained with wonderful stories about his experience growing up on the Islands and also made us the most delicious mock-tails. Our stay was truly perfect in every way. If we had one critic, it would be that the prices of some of the amenities at the spa and products in the gift shop were quite expensive. Maybe this is a given for avid resort travelers, but as first time travelers we were not prepared to spend $52 dollars on sunscreen when we arrived. Make sure you come prepared! We also wished that there was a bit more variety of Maldivian cuisine offered - we loved that there was a section of the buffet specifically dedicated to Maldivian cuisine and wished there was more of it to try. All in all, we would highly recommend a stay at Fushifaru and plan on returning as soon as we can to celebrate our anniversary!
We thoroughly enjoyed every moment at Fushifaru Resort. This was our first (but not last!) trip to The Maldives and we definitely plan to return to Fushifaru because it offers not only calm and pristine beauty but also access to world-class adventure diving. Our accommodations (an over-the-water villa with jacuzzi) were absolutely perfect. We will request the very same villa upon returning! We were visited every dawn and dusk by small rays and reef sharks at our swim ladder, saw many schools of tiny fish throughout the day and even saw a pod of dolphins cruising by one morning a couple hours after sunrise -- a truly magical experience. The evening of the day we arrived, a party was organized for the entire staff to celebrate the resort's 5th anniversary. We quickly understood that the staff is the heartbeat of this resort and what makes it so successful. Kudos to the invisible HR team at Fushifaru as you have assembled an incredible international team that works tirelessly and seamlessly to ensure that all of guests' needs are anticipated and met with a smile. The outstanding staff who took care of us every day included Ahoo (housekeeping), Haroon and Neelam (at Karakali for meals), Nikita (at the poolside bar), and our host Chelsea. Fushifaru's on-island partner for all aquatic activities, an outfit called "Best Dives", also has world class staff. My husband and I did a total of 12 dives with Best Dives' instructors/masters Natalia, Pablo and Reshan. They are all so knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. We explored so many sites teeming with life. On our last dive, we got to spend a long time with two pairs of huge manta rays at Fushifaru Thila, a dive site just a few minutes away via dive boat. It ranks among the most memorable and moving experiences of my life! We attended Natalia's incredible weekly talk about marine biology and conservation. Don't miss her talk if you think you have ANY interest about the plants and animals in the ocean! We learned so much and are now even more excited about our future dives and marine conservation. We were very heartened to learn and see that Natalia has a thriving coral restoration project adjacent to the island's "house reef". It's worth mentioning that upon arrival in The Maldives, my husband was already a PADI certified diver and I had completed all the online learning, confined dives and all but the last two open water dives for my PADI Open Water certification. Natalia made the PADI referral process as seamless and fun as possible. Once I completed my certification under her expert guidance, I was able to go an all the dives that Best Dives organized during our stay.
