Warm and welcoming
Lovely friendly staff. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Great location on the harbour and five minute walk into Reykjavik. Best burgers ever from the bar, and I don't normally eat burgers. Everywhere was lovely and warm, even with the freezing temperatures outside and radiators were easy to adjust. Sauna was lovely too so was grateful for the dressing gowns and slippers in the room.

Lovely stay in very cool hotel in central Reykjavik
We loved the Exeter Hotel! The location was great, just minutes from the harbour and shops, cafes. Also just a 2-3 minute walk to a free car park if you are on a self drive like we were. The staff at reception were lovely. On the first evening they showed us where to drive to see the Northern Lights and we saw them! (Parked at the Lighthouse just a 7 minute drive from the hotel) there is a fab bar, restaurant and bakery attached and we ate their both evenings we stayed. Inexpensive for Iceland and actually not much more than you would pay in the UK now for a very good burger and roasted new potatoes and a beer was about £18. It was so good! Beer was great, a selection is craft beers and I had a very nice cocktail. Breakfast was served from the restaurant and was really lovely. The room was ‘industrial chic’ very cool but poss too dark for some. Ambient lighting! Lovely comfy beds. I tried the sauna which is included. Had it to myself, very high spec and spa like. Highly recommend staying in this hotel if you can!

Lovely hotel
Lovely modern hotel perfect for exploring Reykjavik and getting out on the road. The breakfast was delicious. The room was clean and modern with a comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. The only thing that we didn’t expect was the room to be so warm and there is no air conditioning so we had to open the window onto a busy street. The restaurant and bar have a great atmosphere in the evening and the burgers are amazing! The adjoining bakery is also great with bagels to take on days out! We would definitely stay again!
