Not met expectation on the quality of rooms.
The resort was recommended to us. The resort overall is amazing, entertainment phenomenal, kids activities very well managed, food and drinks overall great, , but the room allocation for a family was unacceptable. Despite several requests for rooms together for the family, it was not granted. Stinky ocean view rooms, construction in close proximity of rooms, smell of paint thinner via the air conditioning vents and rooms close to loud entertainment (very disruptive for infants and toddlers), were just a few issues we had.

Tulum-tacular!
Great for a first time in Mexico. Hotel satisfied all our needs. Go see the ruins, they’re incredible! The only real hang up was that our tablet in our room didn’t work correctly. It was set to January 2011 and the time was way off. Why would this even matter? Great question. Well you see, the tablet is how you order room service. Certain items can only be ordered at certain times during the day. On top of that, it was assigned to the wrong room so if you did try to order, it probably wouldn’t work anyway. Called the front desk and they said they’d fix it and to order using the phone instead. It was never fixed. They did take our order over the phone, so that worked, but very annoying still. Other than that, super clean place, reasonable assortment of food choices and bars were easy to order from. I just wish they’d put a bit more alcohol in the drinks.

Not for us
The hotel has a lot things going for it. The staff are excellent, friendly, helpful and efficient. The food is very good if you're a meat eater, not much choice if you're a vegetarian like us. The booze is top quality and as much as you want, but... There is nowhere to just relax, by the pool or sea that is quiet, loud music seems to blare out everywhere. There is a quieter pool but simply not enough loungers, we never got to sit there. There are notices by both pools forbidding swimming! They are designed to be sat with your feet dangling in, and drinking at. You need swim shoes to go in the sea, there are lethal rocks waiting just below the tide line. Even the sea was too shallow to swim in! It is a wonderful hotel, but just not for us.
