Worst hotel, avoid if you want a good hotel. Dirty, staff very poor, no pool use, WiFi doesn't work in room. The list goes on. I would not recommend to anyone, the rooms are extremely poor especially for a 4 star hotel.
I have returned home today after a 5 night stay at The Crowne Plaza. Like many others we were transferred to this hotel from the Row. I was initially really unhappy as the reviews I read were not great but I will speak really honestly. I have visited New York over 22 times and have stayed in numerous hotels including the Row When it was the Milford Plaza I have more often stayed at The Edison over the last 10 years. When I was advised I was being transferred I called BA and asked to be moved elsewhere they advised me that I could either take the swap or have a refund we had our hols booked so decided we would still go and give it a shot. Upon arrival we checked in with a really pleasant man on the front desk he was very friendly and knowledgable. The room was in 38th floor and you were always able to get a lift without queuing. The room was clean and tidy and kept in good order. The bed was really comfortable. The maid service was daily and I cannot say there was things missed it always looked cleaned upon or return. We like others had issues with the loo but it was fixed immediately. I really can’t complain. When we checked out we were billed $200 for city tax I did think this was hefty and when the hotel was changed I can’t remember being advised if there was a difference in how much it was ? I can’t remember paying that much before but that is my only gripe I would 100 % stay again it’s a lovely hotel with a lovely vibe the location is amazing and the rooms are really clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and approachable. I would book again in the future.
Well positioned hotel with really lovely, helpful staff. Unfortunately no bar open, only a patisserie style breakfast available for purchase. We were relocated after the original hotel we booked was taken over by Gouvernment to house refugees. Our booking was miscommunicated to Crown Plaza and we were booked a double room. As I was travelling with my Daughter it wasn't ideal. The staff were really helpful and we were moved once a room with two beds became available. Hotel located right in center of Time Square. Transfer from JFK by easy access taxi which are waiting just outside the door. Thirty minutes costing about 65 Dollars plus the expected 20% gratuity. Hotel well maintained and very clean. Would recommend.
