The hotel is a walking distance to the city centre and has plenty of parking which you can use even after check out. However the check in time of 4pm is ridiculous. The hotel is also tired looking and very noisy. You can literally hear people sneezing. The staff was pleasant.

We went as a family, the three of us, for a Christmas dinner. First I could not believe how beautiful this building and its spaces were. I was really wishing when I walked in that I was spending the night there it was so beautiful. The dinner was perfect. We had Champagne and canapés before three courses wonderful food. Including tasty desserts all for 1/3 the cost of the same meal across the street in a crowded, definitely not authentic. British ambience. We are going back as often as we can to this beautiful place with its great Service.

First, my room was warm, which was very important during a particularly cold week. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom bright and shiny. Other things were disappointing. The website suggested that the restaurant was much more impressive than it actually was, with a varied menu. The menu turned out to be pretty limited. I suppose that the hotel was short-staffed, but I ate in the bar, which was slightly more welcoming than the restaurant itself, though with the same menu. Service was very slow indeed and the food acceptable but overpriced for what it was. The sole was pleasant enough and the tenderstem broccoli so undercooked as to be practically raw and chewy. As the room was quite dark and not very warm, it was rather a dingy and thankless affair. Breakfast was fine, though I didn't have a cooked meal so can't comment on that. What staff there was were friendly and polite. I was disappointed to find that my room was not cleaned, the bed left unmade and teabags and milk not replenished. The hotel was decent enough, but I wouldn't give it four stars and I wouldn't recommend the restaurant at all. You can eat just as good food more cheaply in Oxford and in a much pleasanter ambiance.
