Summer fun

We stayed at coral star for 10 days in august first impressions were not good, it resembled how hotels wete in the 70 and 80 in spain, the area has a lot of shops shut and looked run down, but when i take in to account what we payed and othet things i can see why people book this hotel, its not a hotel id book but i went with friends with kids so i see the appeal so here's my honest vew The hotel is very very clean but rooms ate very very basic but bathrooms are lovely! We had fesh towels everyday, clean beds. Food was better than i thought, we never went hungry Italian night was my fav, naack bar was basic but agin plenty, fill your own soft drinks and ice creams avaiable, like i said the hotel was older, i cam imagine it was lovely in the 80s like the old ibiza before the tourists and irish and brit theme bars, pool area was decent, usual sunlounger issues, kids splash slides looked good, thete was bars and entertainment room which reminded me of a working mens club room, with flocked chairs and red curtains, no offence to anyone who uses clubs, i have many happy kid memories at my grandads works clubs, but not what you expected from a hotel in spain, but again there seemed to be lots of happy kids entertained in there, for me this is a budget family hotel, its a goid loction for bars snd restaurant and shops, 3 decent beaches please go t. Port torrent beach furthest walk but far the best, food is pretty Decent, drinks again decent enough and clean but rooms are very vety basic but without offending anyone ho goes to this hotel i get holidays are expensive, so i see the appeal to families on a tight budget and id say you will be okay as long as you dont expect the ritz, kids will be fine where every thetes a pool and ice cream and other kids, food is decent staff nice, my initial thoughts were avoid but after being tjete a few days and getting used to things, seeing families and friends enjoying tjey hotel, i wouldent want to say it was bad and put people off, as said its basic, no nice views, but clean, good food, stuff to do, near beaches, id say go out aswell ser the area go to the beaches dont just stay by the pool even if your on a budget a walk to beach doesnt cost, and get a packed lunch from hotel, we did sunset swimming with kids at beach, fab, its not just the hotel its what you choose to do to make your holiday good, so yeah not my choice hotel but ichoose to make my holiday good by doing things i enjoy so the hotel no being perfect dident spoil my hol, woyld i recommended to others? Id say if you want cheap, clean and on budget, decent enough yes, be warned rooms are basic, but as said, its a base you make it want, would i book again, wouldn't be my personal first choice unless it was a super cheap feal, last min ect, id rather spend a bit more and go less basic.. But thats just me as said its not tje best but its also not bad. So go enjoy as long as you know what to expect also yes some shops were closed so atea looked run down but like every whete tjis was due to covid but tjetr wete still enty if shops and bars right outside hotel basically so no taxis needed f alos take the water bus acrois tne bay and watch a sunset near cafe mambo and those places nice evening trip

Exemplorary service from the hotel and Het2

I’ve read some poor reviews of this hotel but my experience has been the complete opposite. As a family we loved the place. Comments about grumpy staff are not correct in my mind from our 10 day visit. From the front desk, restaurant, cleaning, entertainment and bar, the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. The same applies to the Jet2 staff who were there everyday. Food was excellent with loads of variety and restaurant kept spotless. The entertainment in the pool every afternoon was excellent as a participant and spectator. The lady from Ukraine who was organising it was amazing and full of enthusiasm. The Jet2 staff weee also very good and whilst they told us about the organised trips, also advised of alternatives for those on a tighter budget. The only disappointment is it appears it is not listed with Jet2 in the 2023 brochure which I believe is a big mistake. As for the people whinging, I suggest you look at how you wee behaving than blame this hotel, if you didn’t get the holiday you weee demanding as to us from airport to hotel and back, it couldn’t have been better

September 21st - October 1st

As a family of four , Daughters 5 months and 2yr old, we were overall impressed with our stay here at Coral Star hotel. we went all inclusive for 10 nights. The staff were very helpful and assisting as and when required, however we felt at times they could have been happier and during meal times in the restaurant came across unprofessional on their phones (chefs). The waiters were brilliant with the girls, interacting as we arrived and our two year old loved to give them tips so she could "Honk" the horn - she thought that was brilliant. The food was very nice (Average expectancy for a 3* hotel) warm enough at all times and plenty to choose from, however very random combinations. the Snack bar by the pool, open from 11am until 6pm, was brilliant for our two year old daughter as she did not care to eat a lot but was happy snacking during the daytime. The Lady who mainly ran this was absolutely fantastic, lovey manners and brilliant with the kids of all ages, always happy and made great effort to chat even though her English was not very good. Our Daughter took a liking to her and referred to her as the "lovely sweet Lady". The three pools, located in the centre of the hotel were very nice, refreshing and appropriate to all age groups. we found the baby pools decent as the kids were able to splash and stand with us assisting them. I found it annoying that some parents expected the life guards to "babysit" their children while they were elsewhere! they have a role to observe and take action if a life threatening situation occurs, therefore these parents need to consider this and take responsibility! The kids pool, appeared brilliant to look at when we booked up however once there realised that the bucket which drops the water seemed to scare the younger children (our daughter included) which obviously cant be helped however it seemed to appear empty the whole time we were there, the two times I did take my daughter in the water was far too cold in comparison to the other pools. There is also a small splash pool next to this which was perfect on the afternoon for our 5month old as the water was warmer during this time. The lifeguards - what can I say - they were very kind, compassionate and up for a laugh while on duty. they are very professional and everyday was a happy one. they actually saved one little boy from drowning while his parents were not even by he pool but elsewhere in the hotel ! To this situation they were very accommodating and even walked the child to his parents - nothing seemed to be a bother to them. Thank you for making our stay pleasant The entertainment was not great, aimed mainly at children from 5rs and up. Every night was mini disco other than Thursday's, where they would have a live band on for the adults and quiz nights. The mini disco was basically music playing and kids running around the dance floor. We spent a cpl of our nights outside the hotel where we found brilliant bars accommodating to children of all ages (the mad cow & Khumaras Bar). The entertainment team were lovely however did not interact with our two year old much until our final day by the pool where they took her to the hut for 20 minutes, she loved this time so was a shame we couldn't have had the chance to take prior. The reception staff were pleasant on arrival, however directed us to our rooms from the desk and handed out a times sheet with various activities throughout the week, i feel we would have benefited from an explanation as to where the entertainment and restaurant etc was rather then just having to work it out ourselves - this was not rocket science however would have just been better. The rooms were lovely, comfortable beds and plenty storage space for hanging clothes etc. we also had a cot in our suite which was very safe for our baby. We had a perfect pool view and plenty room out on the balcony for us to chill on a night. I would recommend that the hotel invest in inside locks for the doors, we just found that our two year old was able to open the door from the inside even after applying the lock, and open the door, also the window above the bed has no locks and this is very dangerous for children as its a full drop to the poolside. at night we just had to push the pram and table against the door in order for us to hear her if she attempted this during the night. When showering we seemed to set off the fire alarm - this we found annoying more so for he poor staff as each time the needed to knock to just ensure we were not in any danger, from the bathroom there was no visible vents to prevent this from happening. The did not spoil our holiday but i think for the sake of the hotel safety this should be considered.
