We had 2 rooms. Both were park views and both rooms were gorgeous 2 room “suites”. We stayed 4 nights. Each night we had nightly turn down service where something was left each time. Chocolates, information, water bottles and more chocolates! The beds and pillows were comfy but what was the absolute best was the water pressure in the shower. Wow! I also liked the shaving leg bar in the shower. My husband had no idea what that was for! The location was wonderful, about a block from the subway, a 15 minute walk to Times Square, close to good shopping on 5th Avenue, close to Central Park. Service was friendly, helpful and courteous.
Full disclosure- my husband and I have stayed here many times and have loved the experience so I am hoping this is a one off but…we stayed here 3 nights in February to visit NYC daughter and son, take in a show and enjoy our fav restaurants. As a Diamond, we were upgraded via app to Park view which I love because of the light and view. We check in and they switched us to a dark “city view” on a lower floor. I did remind them that we were Lifetime Diamond - not much response. On every other visit we have received a welcoming gift of wine or champagne and treats. This trip…nothing. About an hour after I checked in, a bellman delivered ONE small bottle of water and a box of 5 chocolates. The next day, after returning from a walk, I stopped at the front desk and asked if I could politely vent - the lovely young woman said please do, and listened as I let her know that we were feeling a little under appreciated… she was horrified. I know diamond status can be bought with an AMEX card but we have literally spent hundreds of thousands of dollars over the past 10 to 20 years becoming lifetimes - she completely understood and said I will have the manager call you immediately. No one ever called. We gave up. I know these are first world probs but LOYALTY should matter - otherwise why not go to Marriot - become elite from an Amex card and ride the wave? We will try this hotel again as we love the large rooms but at these prices I am also willing to go elsewhere.
Perched on a prestigious corner at West 54th Street and 7th Avenue is the all-suite Conrad New York Midtown. It's a leisurely walk to top attractions like MOMA, the Rockefeller Centre, Radio City Hall and more. The Conrad's art collection is impressive and includes works ranging from pop art pieces of Andy Warhol to lithographs by Matisse. I enjoyed my spacious Park View One Bedroom King Suite featuring over 500 sq. ft, of area with views of Central Park foliage and NY cityscapes. The room was structured with separate bedroom and living room and gave off the aura of a cozy residential dwelling. The decor included herringbone wood floors, bespoke wool-rugs, large bay windows and a sleek marble bathroom with all the accoutrements. Dabble is the lively New American restaurant and lounge at the Conrad with dishes ranging from Caesar salad to Garganelli. I enjoyed the Steakhouse Burger with fries and the Chocolate Mouse..........a weird combination , but delicious none the less and a Bee's Knee's cocktail brought me to my knees. Some the Conrad's other amenities included a monster gym with all manner of equipment and a 24 hour business center with a comprehensive and spacious event facility. So, if you are looking for a place to home up in luxurious quarters with an easy jaunt to such attractions as Carnegie Hall, Times Square, 5th Avenue shops and more........ ................then try the ...............Conrad New York Midtown...A Stellar Midtown NYC Hotel Address.
