The highlights were the fabulous Iwona and Ann, who always take such excellent care of us. They are one reason we return. Also the room and bathroom were immaculate and lovely. Fabulous shower! Wonderful concierges who helped us plan our trip. Unfortunately no water bottles in our room, no turn down service, no chocolates, no note for return guests and Hilton members, which we are. We have been here many times. We asked for the pull out bed to be made but instead got a hard roll in bed. When we changed rooms they forgot to move our luggage. We were generously given a late checkout but the housekeeper must not have been informed and twice came in while my mom was sleeping. For almost a thousand dollars a night this was disappointing. Those little touches really do make the difference. We will be back in January, hoping for more of a 5 star experience. We love this hotel and want it to be where we always come when we visit NYC. I think there needs to be better communication and more attention to details.
The rooms were nicely appointed but there was no park view (even though I upgraded). The staff and service was not good even though I am a Diamond member. I was treating myself to a nice museum and shopping trip but I should have stayed at the Plaza.
We keep coming back to the Conrad Midtown (formerly London NYC). Great midtown location, recently redecorated rooms that are all suites and friendly staff. Some members of the front of house staff are there for more than 10 years now, which probably tells something about how this hotel is managed.
