Como Maalifushi

Had a fantastic stay at Como Maalifushi, the epitome of quiet luxury. Amazing, thoughtful service throughout. The entire staff made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived, and knew everyone’s names in our traveling party. The service was never overly done, but rather in a kind, friendly, familial yet professional manner. The F&B team was truly outstanding, especially manager Maria and Chef Gambir. They truly took care of us, nothing was impossible; anticipated our every need and met every request that we had, exceeding our expectations. The Chef even took time out before dinner on several occasions to teach our kids to make sushi, which they loved! The super friendly wait staff at every restaurant acknowledged us from the very first visit and remembered our drink preferences after one day. And that’s not to mention the delicious food from Breakfast through Dinner. The Marine Center staff were top notch, with on-site Marine Biologist to teach guests about local marine life. The instructors and crew that took us snorkeling, and scuba diving couldn’t be more friendly, helpful and patient. Play by Como was great, with tons of engaging daily activities and friendly staff to entertain children. Tons of water activities, with easy on-site snorkeling in the house reef where we saw lots of marine life. Stunning views of the ocean practically everywhere at the hotel. And the hotel itself is teeming with marine life every time you look down into the water. If there’s one thing to nitpick over, it’s the seaplane transfer to get to/from the hotel. Understandably it’s not in their control, but it’s not the most fun part of the trip due to the long time it takes from arrival to get to hotel and on return. Como Maalifushi understands that little details matter when it comes to great service and their understated but personal brand of hospitality makes the stay that much more enjoyable. We can’t wait to return!

A little further out from Malé (50 minutes seaplane flight), COMO Maalifushi lies on a small 800 meters island. It is a human size property of about 60 villas and suites, some of them on the water. We spent 10 days on a water suite with 2 kids (family of 4), half board. We stayed there late July, a bit before the summer break boom, and before the "high season" (December to March), which gave us the opportunity to be on the island in a low occupancy time of the year. The staff was simply outstanding, we were truly treated like privileged guests. The amenities are top of the game, from a pristine spa, to the bar and 2 restaurants, it was just perfect, surrounded by a local reef with plenty of marine life. Our water suite was easily suitable for our family of 4, about 110 m2 (1200 sq feet), the layout was perfectly designed, with a superb deck featuring a private pool and direct access to the ocean, we enjoyed snorkeling directly from our private deck. The property is small, but it's easy to get around with the bikes provided to each guest. The kid's club has amazing activities for the younger ones. Activities for guests include snorkeling, diving (5 stars PADI dive center), kayaking, sport fishing etc. There is really nothing negative to say about this resort which, in my mind, ranks easily among the top 10 in the Maldives.

Our stay at COMO Maalifushi was absolutely spectacular! From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in luxury and warmth. The team truly made our experience unforgettable—each person we encountered was incredibly kind and attentive, just as my mom described: "People are the Gem on this Island." The culinary experience was one of the highlights of our trip not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The massages at COMO Shambhala were truly heavenly. My sister found great enjoyment in all the Play by COMO activities. Additionally, we had a wonderful time engaging in water sports, going on a Dolphin Cruise, and discovering the stunning house reef encircling the island. We had our amazing photoshoot that will cherish forever. A heartfelt thank you to all the team members who took care of us with such dedication and professionalism.
