We booked a week at this hotel mid October (B&B and dinner). Had booked a superior room, the blonde haired receptionist (sorry haven’t got any names, totally forgot) was so helpful and acknowledged us every day. Welcome drink arrived and we checked in, the receptionist then took us up to our room after informing us that we had been upgraded (never had an upgrade before, so was quiet excited) and rightly so, as we walked into the room we could see that we had a room with our own private swimming pool – Wow! This room was classified as a maisonette suite. The pool was a good size and the room also, with a separate bedroom area on the mezzanine level. Everything was spotlessly clean and there was a coffee machine, fridge and mugs and glasses. Our room overlooked the main street in front of the hotel, but when on the balcony it was private as the swimming pool was in front. We didn’t get any noise from the street below. The bed was amazingly comfortable, felt just like I was in my own bed at home and the pillows were of good quality. It was nice to have a sitting area downstairs with a comfy sofa and chair. There were a couple of English channels on the TV. The bathroom was a good size with a huge shower, again spotless. Housekeeping did a wonderful job everyday and left the room topped up with everything and spotlessly clean, they never once forgot anything as can happen in some hotels. Thank you housekeeping. Although we had dinner booked every night we did eat out on a couple of nights just to relieve the monotony. The menu consisted of Dips, Soup, Starters, Main and dessert. The only thing you had to choose was the Main (choice of 3). The Main course was the highlight of the meal and was like a picture on a plate and it tasted good too. There were always 3 desserts to share, one being a platter of fruit and these were good too. Breakfast was the usual fare, plentiful and good. The waiters and waitresses worked their socks off and were efficient. Breakfast tables were cleaned as soon as someone left and we always had a table in the morning, no waiting for them to clear one, excellent. The pool area was well maintained with plenty of sunbeds, the Spa looked nice, but we didn’t use it and the bar area was nice, but there weren’t many people using it, maybe because it was the end of the season and the hotel wasn’t fully booked. It was a short walk into the centre of Sissi - 5 minutes, where there were plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. Supermarket right next door to the hotel if you needed anything which was very handy. Excellent small hotel with excellent staff. Very enjoyable stay.

Nice enough but not 5* Arrived at the hotel late at night and received a warm friendly welcome and a dried up cold meat & cheese sandwich and a bottle of water as our meal (paid for HB). Not a good start. We asked for a bottle of orange juice or fizzy drink to be told no, the facilities were closed. Hotel room was really nice and clean with no issues other than the jacuzzi bath not working, which we fixed ourselves My main gripe about this hotel is the restaurant and I hope that it was due to it being the end of season. I have read loads of reviews on this hotel and they all seemed good so hopefully things will improve next year. The staff are all lovely and friendly but they really need to improve the service and standards in the restaurant Restaurant - Breakfast- quite a poor selection. Often the choices ran out including bread, butter, hot food, milk etc. one morning I heard a waitress tell a guest that it would be 20 mins to refill the bread basket. That particular day, virtually all the selection of food ran out and the staff didn’t seem too bothered. I don’t eat eggs or red meat and I really struggled to find something to eat. Service to refill the coffee/ tea/ orange juice was poor (they insisted on servicing this rather than help yourself, like the rest of the breakfast). It really wasn’t a 5* breakfast Dinner - a set meal served to you at the table. Not a huge selection but I found enough to eat. Basically just picked main course. The starters and salads were a set menu and plentiful. Main course was average. Food was nice enough but again the service was shocking. I think a lot of the issues were down to the kitchen although the waiting staff didn’t seem phased in any way. First night we walked out after long delays in the restaurant for 90 mins and still didn’t have our dessert, despite repeated requests and poor response. The place wasn’t even that busy Second night was worse. No red wine and awful service. I’d had enough and complained to the manager who managed to find me wine. I really couldn’t understand how a 5* hotel could run out of wine (and food at breakfast) especially with a supermarket next door ! Manager then supervised in the restaurant and things improved I saw quite a few others complaining to the manager over our weeks stay and things did improve a bit with what appeared to be assistant managers supervising Pool We didn’t use the pool but it did look really nice Indoor Pool Nice enough but cold with none of the jets / jacuzzi area working. If you read the hotel website - this sounds very luxurious but it certainly wasn’t Gym Very small with only 2 out of the 4 machines working all week ! Location is really good Cats If your not a fan of having 2 cats constantly sit staring up at you and begging for food in the restaurant then this isn’t the place for you. Only one member of staff chased them out. I’m an animal lover but not a fan of them begging at the table. Overall this is a nice hotel. Staff are nice and friendly but it’s not a 5*. I have never had to complain (ever) to a manager on any holiday that I have been on but felt that it was necessary at this hotel. As it was the end of season the hotel wasn’t particularly busy either. As mentioned, I can only hope that the issues were down to it being so late in the season, however, even if this was the case - it really isn’t acceptable for this class of hotel. Despite above, I enjoyed my holiday in Sissi but wouldn’t necessarily recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel. Fabulous location. The rooms are spacious and clean and the beds are so comfortable. We loved the room. The staff are so friendly and helpful, especially Jessica and Kostas the manager. They always greeted us with a smile and nothing was too much trouble for them.
