Bougainvillea Beach Resort

A really nice hotel. The staff are all very polite and courteous and the accommodation is very good. They cannot do enough for you when at the beach, if they see you have no shade they bring out an umbrella. They often bring around cold face clothes to cool you down and sometimes even a tray of Jell-O shots. Nothing is too much trouble for these guys. The on site restaurant is very good. There are some disappointments however. Our room is right next to the laundry and it is noisy… it appears that staff are not instructed to keep the noise down during certain hours. The first day we were woken up at 7am by a group of workers hauling machinery up a slope in and out of the laundry. Constantly staff are shouting to each other outside before 7am. Whilst we were notified that there was remedial work to do on reception (via letter under the door) the following day, and they offered use of the pool next door and added an extra happy hour that day (which we thought was a very nice gesture) … we certainly weren’t expecting to be woken by a scissor lift beeping at 5.50am!! Come on guys.. Yes, we fully understand that work needs to be done to keep the place looking amazing but really….. do you have to wake everyone up. Be courteous to your guests please. On the whole it’s been a good stay so far, just not very happy about the constant noise issues which seem to be continual. I can understand not being able to do anything about noisy guests but I certainly wasn’t expecting the hotel to be this inconsiderate to guests.. perhaps keep the noise down before 8am, we are in vacation for a reason. The hotel is a little isolated with not many restaurants around and it is better to rent a car for a few days or use public transport but it’s a beautiful location on a wonderful beach. Overall it’s great, just fix this noise issue please.

Worst steak I have ever had. Terrible rude waiter who was so snobby and rude. Too cold and tasteless, 1 star is too much. The beer was also flat and took half hour to come. Pathetic services along with terrible music. I couldn’t give this joint a more negative review!

Fabulous holiday, we stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment and it was fantastic. The rooms were big enough for our family of 4 and we had a kitchen too. The rooms were cleaned every day. The restaurant, Calabash, is fantastic, the food is delicious. We made good use of the Happy hour at 3.30pm, the rum punches were excellent! The hotel is set on a beautiful beach and the sea is everything you would wish for. ALL the staff were helpful, the guys at the water sports helped with paddle boarding and were always friendly if you needed anything. The kayaks/boogie boards/paddle boards were all complimentary. The reception staff, the staff in the restaurant and the lovely lady in the shop all made it a fabulous holiday. If you are thinking of booking here you won’t be disappointed. Thanks for a wonderful holiday, we will definitely return. We booked direct with the hotel.
