Barcelo Maya Palace All Inclusive

My wife and I spent 6 days at the Barceló Maya Palace. Our stay was amazing and we love the place. We have stayed in other hotels in the complex before and it was our first time at the Barcelo Maya Palace. The service, accommodations, facilities and the staff service were really amazing. The beach and swimming pools were really good, with entertaining for both adults and kids. Room was really spacious, very clean and very well maintained. Making the reservations for a la carte restaurants was easy after our initial check-in. The restaurants were really good. Dining a la carte restaurants was really amazing. The Brasserie and Caribeño had an excellent menu and options. The food quality and the presentation were outstanding. Especial mention to the staff: Erika and Feliciano (at the Brasserie) and Dinora and Alejandro (at Caribeño). They made our dining experience very special by providing their recommendations and describing the menu options. They were really friendly and professional. The ambiance of the two restaurants was cozy and nice, set up to have a good dinner. The buffet restaurants (Hacienda, Mirador and Coral Grill) were also very good with plenty of options and good quality for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Service was again amazing and the staff was friendly. The manager of the Hacienda and Mirador was always checking on the guests listening to our feedback in a very friendly and attentive way. Even during the busy weekend (Gritos de Dolores celebration), they went out of their way to accommodate and facilitate breakfast and lunch. Special mention to Eric in the Coral Grill for being friendly and providing a very good service. Night shows were good and entertaining. Il Divo and Tropicalisimo shows were good entertaining. Especial mention to the Fiesta Mexicana for the celebration of the Grito de Dolores. It was a very happy celebration with music, entertainment and special way of wrapping up our fantastic vacation. The staff service and friendliness are just amazing. If there was an aspect to improve is the check in process. The staff at the reception were friendly and wanted to make sure that rooms were ready before finishing the check-in. However, the process is lengthy. Check in is two steps, initial check-in to assign the room number and then activating the bracelet after 3 pm. We think management might be able to speed and facilitate the process to make it easy and fast.

Was charged unexpectedly for no reason for about 800 dollars. When I phone the front desk I just get put on hold for hours and when I emailed no one responded. Not sure what to do. Our booking specialist that made our reservations was also extremely difficult to contact and actually made staying here more difficult than if we didn’t use him. Other than that we had a good time.

The service here has been spectacular, the waiters concierge, especially the bartenders at the bar are very kind, respectful, totally attentive to our needs, and the staff has been going above and beyond.
