Lovely hotel in a stunning location overlooking the harbour. It was a mid September when we visited so coming to the end of the season in Menorca. Despite this we received a very warm welcome and a cold glass of fizz. The hotel had also very kindly set up cold plates as we arrived after the restaurant had closed. We opted for an AI package (must wear wristband) which covered meals in the main buffet restaurant and snacks (crisps and peanuts). Breakfast and tapas was also included from the pool bar and you could choose lunch which carried a 50% surcharge. A good selection of drinks in the AI package excl black label, vintage spirits and selected cocktails. We had a pool view room on the 4th floor with a small balcony which had the sun on it most of the day. Housekeeping keep the place spotless. The rooms are compact, and the layout a little different, separate toilet and shower with glass sliding doors with the sink in the middle of the room. Saying that the rooms and extra large bed were comfortable and good quality cotton bed linens. Unfortunately the roof top bar was closed the majority of our stay as it was exceptionally windy and cold. The staff are very warm and friendly from housekeeping to management ~ special mention though to the reception team who were excellent. Cala Fonts is a lovely 5min stroll. It has a pretty small harbour with lovely bars and restaurants and would highly recommend. A very pleasant stay.

The worst hotel I have stayed in. We went all inclusive wish i had never bothered, the meal choice was terrible very very limited and what you got was Lukewarm or not cooked properly. Ate out a few times at lunch could not face going back as the choice of food was even less. Booked sea view room they are very small no room to put a suitcase. Very disappointed in this hotel. Pool bar very small and so is the pool. Lobby bar why is it not kept open during the day instead you have to go up to the sky bar with no shade or the very small pool bar. This hotel is fine if you want to sunbathe all day and go out in the evening that's if you can get in one of the restaurants. Staff very pleasant the only good thing about this hotel. The management need to seriously look at what they are offering guests on the All inclusive at this hotel because it needs to change.

Pros Reception staff were exceptional. Very helpful, efficient and friendly. Great location and views from restaurant, lobby bar and seaview rooms. Very near a wide choice of restaurants lining the small bay. Rooms were comfortable and well appointed Towels and bed linen of very good quality Pool towels nice and fluffy. Great views from rooftop bar that has jacuzzis Pool area relaxing and clean Buffet breakfast choice was good All staff friendly and helpful except restaurant manager Cons Two days after checking in the buffet lunch became limited. Two counters were left empty and salads etc restricted to sharing counting with desserts. Boring choice On three days I had to request mayonnaise (ironic as Menorca home of mayonnaise). One day they brought out a dish of mayonnaise, next day it was in individual plastic packages, next day when plastic packages brought out, I asked for it to be provided in a bowl. From then on mayonnaise was provided on the salad counter in a bowl. On first night we used restaurant for dinner. We asked for wine list and manager provided it stating he’d return in a few minutes to take order. He never returned, we went without wine. Luckily water was provided in the table. We felt as if we were a nuisance. We changed from dinner to lunch for remainder of stay until last night. On last night, next to our table the manager was berating a member of waiting staff, pointing fingers etc. we felt uncomfortable to witness this. We could not see anything that had warranted such a telling off in public. I felt it was a form of bullying. Although his staff were helpful, friendly and clean the same could not be said of manager. I found him surly and unapproachable. His white shirt on a few occasions was grubby. I have suggested to Barcelo management he have further training especially in people skills. At the lobby bar you were required to queue at bar for service. I don’t think I’ve been to a four star hotel that did not provide waiter service for pre and after dinner drinks. My room was not serviced when I returned at 16:30. No one knocked to complete this whilst I was getting ready to go out. At 17:45 I asked reception to sort this out which they did and room was ready on my return later that night Summing Up Would be four stars if not for Restaurant Manager A great location for restaurants, access to Mahon (taxi one way €9. Stunning views Brilliant Reception staff Good waiting staff but awful restaurant manager I’d stay again but on bed and breakfast only as we noticed most of new guests checking in were all inclusive and it appeared hotel catered more to their needs than that of other guests
