Positives are the pool area and beautiful art deco exterior. Unfortunately these are outweighed by the negatives including poorly trained reception desk staff who act like they are doing you a favour when you approach to ask a question and an even worse manager, who is rarely in the hotel when you ask for him. We stayed at the hotel for 8 nights and when we arrived were told our king room was not available and we would have to accept a two queen bedroom. For the length of time we were staying at the hotel we thought we would be priority guests but that didn't matter at all to the reception staff who were rude, dismissive and unaccomodating. The manager was even worse and didn't offer an apology for the mix up or any sort of free voucher or even a bar drink to address the issue. We stayed in the room one night and had to fight again with reception the next day to be moved to the room we paid for! Totally unacceptable behaviour for the face of the hotel and left a sour taste in our mouths at the very beginning of our trip. The toilet and sink in the room we received were also loose and moved around and when we told the reception this was also ignored. Overall, the location and pool are the appealing parts of the hotel but it is very poorly managed so if you have any complaints or any issues with your room do not expect to be served well. We asked for a late check out, as a form of restitution for our first night, and the request was met with distain. The reception desk will always start with, "That is not possible" as their go to answer rather than trying to accommodate and address their guests' concerns. I would not stay at this hotel again on account of how it is run.
The place is tired old seedy and damp and it stinks. I’d avoid it. They refuse to simply let you check out and not only do they take the entire payment they are very vague with their charges for literally everything. I was early so they charged me.
Location is great, stuff is friendly BUT this hotel has a huge problem, insulation is terrible! The room guest next to our room was talking in the phone on speaker at 6am, we heard it all! He took his time, finished first call, called someone else, his phone was ringing on my head. We’ve been jet lagged and struggled to sleep, so waking me up at 6am was a torture !! Also, there are construction works next to our windows, they start at 7am, impossible to sleep in peace !! Another detail to mention, we booked with booking.com and we were supposed to pay 120$ at arrival, the hotel said it’s wrong and we had to pay 239$ otherwise they can cancel our booking with one night owed!
