The name of Aplai Dome wasn’t inspired, but it has remained unchanged for centuries, so we decided to keep this name and its history. “Dome” represents the main architecture of the place, while Aplai used to call this property as a hillside, giving the Aplai Dome unobstructed sea views.
In absolute harmony with island’s architecture Aplai Dome is built in Oia’ s area. It is only 170 meters far from Oia’s centre where you can admire the unique and worldwide known Caldera of Santorini and at the same time to visit high aesthetic shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.

We were staying for 10 nights in the south of the island but decided to book a one night stay at a hotel in Oia. Found this hotel on Tripadvisor, had great reviews, so decided to splash out and have a night in the honeymoon hot tub suite (although it wasn’t our honeymoon). It more than met our expectations! The room was modern, clean, stylish, excellent bathroom and facilities throughout. The best feature was our huge private balcony area with sun loungers, hot tub, and fantastic views overlooking the caldera. We spent most of the day on the balcony and enjoyed watching the beautiful sunset with a drink in our fabulous hot tub. Absolute heaven! The pool area is very nice, with fantastic views and comfortable sun loungers. The bar area is also great, we had an amazing club sandwich and mojito (which they brought to our room). The staff here are really welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was really good, plenty of nice choices, and served at the pool bar, so lovely views to enjoy when eating. We went into Oia in the evening for a meal. It’s a beautiful place, and we enjoyed walking around the narrow streets and alleyways. But we were looking forward to going back to our hotel room so we could enjoy a glass of wine in the hot tub. This was probably the best day of our holiday thanks to this wonderful hotel. I hope to stay here again one day. Perfect!

We follow TripAdvisor and use it to make decision in many trips a year that we take. Same was true here, the place deserves a mix rating. It has 14 rooms all facing the sea ( not the caldera) it is a short distance ( 10 minutes) to the heart of Oía. Breakfast was good and the personnel was friendly. The rooms were not furnished to deserve more than 3 stars. The room cleanliness was lacking and the price was relatively high.

We were at Aplai Dome for ten nights as we were meeting family members from Australia as well as UK, a family get together in Santorini. It was magical, we can fully endorse all of the praise that's gone before and more. All of the staff at Aplai Dome go the extra mile to ensure that their guests have the best experience, and you will. Stamatis and his wife own and run the hotel and we were told by them to treat their hotel as our home and they meant it. They are backed up by Charis front of house and Charis (2) with George in the restaurant/bar. The breakfasts are lovely and with fine choices available everyday. These guys are as passionate as the owner and his wife regarding doing everything possible to make sure that your stay is memorable. Even the staff on room service are happy to go the extra mile. The suites are lovely, and everywhere is spotless outside as well as inside. You will not be disappointed at Aplai Dome (Suites).
