My girlfriend and I stayed here in September and had a wonderful stay. The location is perfect and I wouldn’t come to Mykonos without staying in Agios Ioannis. The views throughout the resort are spectacular and the fact it has its own private beach was a massive massive plus to us and one of the main reasons I would come back. The room was nice, kept very clean and I have to say the cleaners did a fantastic job, turning down the room immaculately twice a day which is not always the case. We had a Aegean sunset deluxe room which was great, we didn’t spend much time in the room anyway but the view from the balcony was spectacular and I don’t know if we just got lucky but could not have been more private. The service throughout the hotel was good and for my birthday they kindly gave me a balloon and a bottle of wine, to be honest we didn’t do much in the hotel other than sleep and use the beach so didn’t have much interaction with anybody. One person who I’m sure every guest thought stood out was the South African buggy driver (I’m really sorry I didn’t remember your name) his energy was infectious. I only had one issue and I would like this to come across as advice to the hotel rather than criticism. The breakfast was shockingly awful, the quality was incredibly poor with food having clearly been left out for hours, nothing was fresh and wasn’t appealing at all. The pancakes were old and almost had a sweat on them, the pastries were going soft from being out too long and the fresh fruit options were very limited I felt. The service at breakfast was very poor too, nothing was ever explained so we figured out to help ourselves to everything including water, many times we ate without our table being set and were only offered coffee or tea twice during our 7 night stay. It was so bad we only had a bowl of yoghurt and left as quickly as we could every morning. The only other odd thing was you had to sign out towels to take to the pool or the beach and I could not for the life of me figure out why as you did not have to even return them to where you signed them out, it just felt a little bit cheap as normally in every other 5 star hotel beach towels are provided in the rooms. They often ran out of the beach towels too. There could be a problem with people reserving the beds on the beach with their possessions sometimes for hours at a time without returning, when there are only roughly 10 beds a family of four doing this takes up nearly half the available beds, it is a very difficult one for the hotel to sort but think maybe there needs to be some degree of monitoring of this. Their sauna and steam room also felt a little cheap in how it was operated, they are turned off until requested and obviously take a while to heat up so required planning, also when we did use the sauna I then went for a quick shower before returning to use the steam room to find out within those 3 minutes they had both already been turned off which again just felt very cheap and meant I didn’t bother using them for the rest of the holiday. Overall I would very much reccomend Anax as a place to stay for your holiday in Mykonos, it’s easy bus access to town and had a private beach to enjoy the sea, combined with stunning views and lovely amenities it’s a great option and arguably the best unless you can afford to stay at Bill & Coo coast or Kalesma.

I recently stayed at this Hotel, and it was an amazing experience. The views are stunning, and unlike other hotels, it’s not crowded, which creates a much more peaceful atmosphere. Even when fully booked, the hotel feels quiet and serene. The hotel boasts a beautiful private beach that I enjoyed immensely. The rooms are spacious and impeccably clean. Breakfast was fantastic, with plenty of options, and the food at the restaurant was delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. A special thank you to Tasos and Sotiris, the waiters at the pool and restaurant, who made my stay even more enjoyable. Sotiri was always smiling and attentive, remembering my lactose intolerance and preferences. Tasos, if I’m spelling his name correctly (he is the brother of the receptionist), provided excellent recommendations and advice about the island and was very attentive as well. The driver of the golf cart was also extremely friendly. If you're looking for a relaxing stay with incredible views and warm, friendly service, Anax Hotel is the perfect choice.
