The Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa is located just a few steps away from Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge, amidst the picturesque streets of the Lesser Town area. Our city centre luxury hotel is situated in Prague, within four former-bourgeoise houses of which the oldest one, “Dum U Jeziska,”” has served various purposes and owners during the past five centuries. In 2006, this 5 star boutique hotel was opened in Prague Old Town, utilizing the beautiful baroque style and creating a refined ambience. Reflecting the historical character of the building, the Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa sensitively incorporates Aquarius restaurant, spoiling its guests with home-made Italian pasta and exquisite wines, and the luxury-wellness Ecsotica Spa, located in the building‘s ancient cellars offering a perfect hide-away for relaxation.

The hotel is perfect in all aspect. The location, the amenities, the service and the rooms, all contributed to an amazing stay. We were greeted by a glass a prosecco on arrival and attended by very professional and attentive staff. This was just one of the small touches which made our stay more than enjoyable. The little chocolates delivered everything day to the room and the complimentary wine and cheese at tea times as well as a beautiful spa also contributed. The ground floor has multiple communal sitting rooms for guest to sit and relax throughout their stay. The layout of the hotel made it look very boutique and private. it made us feel almost like we had the entire hotel for ourselves. Located in in a peaceful neighbourhood just between the castle and St Mark bridge this was ideal to explore most of the city best sights by foot. Because of the proximity to these sights, we were also able to enjoy what the hotel had to offer and not only use it as a place to sleep. The pizzeria owned by the hotel in the same street is superb, run by Italians, their pizzas are not be missed. I truly recommend as this was one of my most enjoyable hotel experience. Not only we visited an amazing city but got to also to stay in a fabulous hotel.

This is a remarkable luxury hotel in the centre of Prague, just opposite the American embassy. The design is heavily baroque and there are golden ornaments galore. Check-in was easy and very efficient. The rooms are comfortable, well equipped, clean and roomy. Room and guest service are frindly and efficient. Breakfast buffet is tasty and of good quality. There is supposed to be an afternoon wine and cheese event but this was somehow neglected by the staff. On the first afternoon, the wine and cheese was only brought out after we eventually asked. The next day, there was nothing at all. (Not even somebody to ask) so we stopped bothering. There is a fantastic spa area and all treatments were carried out to perfection. I didn‘t like the check-out procedure because the receptionist gave me a bill with numerous cryptic items, but she couldn‘t explain what we were actually charged for. This is not good enough and needs to be done more professionally, especially if you are talking several thousand Euros. Altogether, this is a nice hotel with a few organisational issues which need to be streamlined.

We had a great late December stay here. We were greeted with mulled wine on arrival and shown around. Our room was well appointed, and the building itself is really special. The breakfast was quite good and the on site cafe was convenient in times for a small snack or additional coffee. I would definitely recommend checking out the spa during your stay. I had a facial booked but the facialist fell ill so we just had a nice soak and sauna but the facilities are very pretty and it’s a great way to relax after a long day of sight seeing. It was easy to reach from the train station by tram and a moderate walk to most sites. It was nice to be a bit away from the crowds.
