Perfect location on the island. We could easily explore the whole island from here. Very friendly staff, big beach, with good waves to bodysurf. And the beautiful pebbles beach on 5 minutes walking distance. We really had no complaints at all.

We recently stayed 6 nights. From afar its beautiful. Up close, its a 17 year hotel that need some remodeling. The location is fabulous. Beautiful beaches and views. Conrad made an excellent decision in buying this property. The Good. After checking, about 4pm, in we went to the Careenage bar/restaurant just off the front lobby. There were only 2 people inside, a man behind the bar and a woman at a barstool. Neither recognized our existence. After sitting at a table for 5ish minutes we figured it just open yet. (The bartender couldn't have said something?). So, we shuffled down to the bar/grill in the pool area. It was maybe 1/3 occupied and there were 2 waitresses. Again, 5ish minutes with no service from either waitress. No recognition of our existence. OK, maybe we're supposed to order at the bar. My wife went to the bar and ordered our drinks. An old fashioned for me and an oj and tonic for her, (she doesn't drink). Alrighty then, we're back in business. The old fashioned was mediocre but I killed it off. Attempted another order. Again, we sat there for several minutes watching the waitresses crush their ankles. Finally, one had to walk by our table to deliver someone else's order. "HEY, does this table get wait service or what" I asked. “Yes, what do you want,” she answered laconically. We had another round and headed to their big restaurant, The Lighthouse for dinner. The Lighthouse’s menu is a one price, $110BD, dinner consisting of soup, salad, veggie choices, entrée, (4 choices), and desert. Not a bad deal. But all I wanted was the lamb curry and grilled vegetables. The very friendly and attentive waitress explained that I would have to pay more for this than for the full dinner. Ordered the dinner. The curry was pretty good but the grilled veggies were cold and soggy. The Bad. Two days later we decided to retry the Careenage for a round of drinks. The service was good, the O.F. was meh and I presented a free drink coupon, (given at check in to Diamond members). The waiter advised the coupon would pay for wifey’s orange juice but not the old fashioned. WTF? The coupon clearly states its good for 1, non blended drink. A somewhat surly manager came over and told me the coupon is not valid for blended drinks or call alcohol. I advised that an o.f. isn’t blended and I didn’t request any call alcohol. He simply stated its not good for that drink. I don’t know if this manager was confused or was rotely following Hilton’s instructions. Now the $7 difference, (o.j. vs o.f.), isn’t going to break us but nobody likes a bait and switch. The Cheap. After this second encounter with the Careenage we decided to take our eating and drinking outside of the Hilton. This could be a challenge for people who are not comfortable walking a bit. Overall the hotel is nice, comfortable and like I stated, the views. It could use some cosmetics and some trim pieces here and there. The electronics on the elevators are a bit hinky and the ice machine on our floor/wing was broken for the duration of our stay. As our stay was paid on points, we don’t feel cheated but would not consider returning at retail prices.

Check-In was rude Hotel room 167 upon entrance AC fan was rattling curtains & lamp shade were hanging off & the room smelled. The bed sheets were not on the entire bed the restaurants on-site were extremely over-priced for quality of food. We were charged $110/psn USD for the Lighthouse & & $300/psn for the Grille.
