Horrible customer service! Pushy timeshare style sales crap. Never a care about anything you need as a guest besides shoving food and sweet drinks with very little liquor in them in your face. Then to top off the visit we find cockroaches in our room and no care to help with any of the situation

My family of 4 visited the resort from Feb 20 to 27, 2023. Listed below are our collective thoughts on the property, beach, food, etc… I know some of the concerns may be “first world” problems, but I think it is fair for people to know what they are getting when they spend the $$$ that the Ocean Coral Spring costs. We got a standard room and we were not a part of the “Privilege Club”. First off, the property. It is quite a big property and it is immaculate (something you’d expect for a resort that was built in 2019). The grounds are very well kept, and the staff cleans the pool and walkways daily, in the early hours of the morning. The rooms are very spacious. We had a 2-queen with pullout couch. The couch was opened the entire time, and we never felt crowded. Really nice balcony too. Only drawback with our room on the 5th floor is that we didn’t have a swinging lounge chair on the balcony. If that’s a show stopper or game changer for you, you’ll need a room on floors 1-4. The best part about the room was the shower! Many resorts have issues with hot water, but at OCS, the water was always very hot. The beach itself is somewhat small, but by no means crowded. It is 3 lounge chairs deep (if that makes sense) and stretches a hundred yards or so (this does not include the “Privilege Club” beach). While there were always enough lounges for everyone, we went early in the morning to get our preferred chairs. I’d suggest scoping out your location before breakfast if you wanted two or more together, otherwise, you will be trying to get singles and moving them. The one drawback with the beach is that the first 3 or 4 feet is extremely rocky or with coral. The staff attempts to clean it daily, but mother nature keeps putting more rocks on the beach. You may want water shoes for this purpose. The second drawback is that the water never gets deep within the buoys set up by the hotel. The water would not go above your waist. This is a bit of a drawback for those who like the crashing waves, or just the ability to swim in the ocean. The pool is massive and stretches the length of the property. Well maintained, and never overly crowded. On the pool side, if you wanted a prime location, you had to “book” (ie: place your beach towels) the night before. I’d go for a walk at 5:00am, and all the best spots were already taken. The lazy river is more than just “lazy”, there is very little flow. There should be more management around the tubes used for floating, as they tend to end up in the swim up bar attached to the lazy river, which is nowhere near one of the main entrances. The food at OCS is very good. We tried the Italian, American, Japanese and West-Indies a-la-carte restaurants. The food quality was comparable to many eateries at home. Very impressive. The jerk hut, red snapper grill and canteen by the water slides were great spots for snacks and a light lunch, though they did tend to run out of food quicker than expected. The buffet was good. Not great, but good. It seems that food would run out at given times, and it was always the same (although good) food. As an example, there were tones of delicious pastries for breakfast. If you showed up past 8:30am, however, most were gone and not replenished. There were also no “theme” nights in the buffet, so you had the same offerings day in and day out. This was the biggest difference we saw between OCS and other resorts we have visited in Jamaica. For a 5* resort, we felt there should have been more variety. Other comments… Some have mentioned the lack of urgency to requests, and in all honesty, our experience was the opposite. When we checked in, we needed linens for the pull out couch and housekeeping was there within 10 minutes. The safe also had an issue that was fixed in ½ hour. Another small issue that just “irked” me was the key system. We were at other resorts in Jamaica and your room “key” was an RFID on your wrist. Very convenient for all involved. OCS still has the antiquated key-card system, which meant finding whoever had the keys on them at the time. A small little detail, but one that didn’t go un-noticed. Overall, we had a great time at the resort. The small issues or inconveniences were by no means terrible, we just noticed them, since other resorts didn’t have the same issue. People have asked if I’d go back to Ocean Coral Springs, and honestly I would. I would go in with a mindset knowing the shortcomings. Would the resort be my first choice? Likely not. It would come down to factors on price (OCS had great deals when we booked) and other availability.
