Very tired hotel in the rooms. Very clean with a good price for booking on line. Room overlooking the pool and sea was delightful. I had no problem parking but I would guess if hotel busy then parking a car would be an issue. Staff polite and helpful. Nice quiet location on the sea front.

Excellent stay at The Cumberland staff are to be commended on their customer service. On arrival parking can be a little tight as spaces are very small on close together but we managed to squeeze in. Reception were very helpful and very welcoming. Our room was absolutely fine with a lovely balcony view the only thing that would improve the room would be a fridge. The public spaces were very nice although the seating in the bar and lounges was very low with no options apart from a small table with high bar stools. I did notice a few guests commenting on this especially those of increasing years. My husband did find the seating difficult being well over 6ft himself Breakfast was as expected for a 4* hotel. We ate in the Mirabelle restaurant on the first evening which was ok. The second night we changed to the Ventana Grand Cafe which was much better and we enjoyed an excellent meal. Again the members of staff in each restaurant are very helpful and attentive. The hotel is within easy walking distance to the town centre and there is a bus service which stops directly outside the hotel. Bournemouth itself probably not as good the town centre has gone dramatically downhill.

What an Art Deco delight! Built in 1938 and obviously recently refurbished. Simply beautiful all over. Being Feb, the outdoor pool wasn't open but looked ready to go and delightfully inviting. Indoor pool in next door hotel available. The staff were all nice and friendly and the food very good. Gorgeous sea view from our room/balcony, although some rooms face into the courtyard. Car parking included if you book directly (£12/day) subject to room. Fairly easy access to arguably the best beach in the country.
